Access to the Outdoors for ALL Denver Students.
Every student in Denver Public Schools deserves the chance to experience the wonder of Colorado’s mountains.
The Balarat Council is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and advocating for the Balarat Outdoor Education program, which provides Denver Public Schools students with hands-on learning in environmental studies, science, Colorado history, and outdoor leadership.
The Council is made up of people whose lives have been touched by Balarat in different ways: students who hiked the trails, teachers who led trips, staff who led programs, and community members who believe in the power of outdoor learning.
The Balarat Council fundraises and advocates for the Balarat outdoor education program to ensure its long-term sustainability.
